Who we are
Who TimeFX is
TimeFX is an international payments and foreign exchange business for UK companies and individuals. We move money between currencies, hold balances in the currencies our clients trade in, and help them plan for the fact that exchange rates move.
Cross-border trade puts three problems on the same desk: getting a payment to the right account abroad, deciding when and at what rate to convert, and knowing what a future commitment will actually cost in sterling. TimeFX covers all three — payments, currency and FX risk — rather than leaving them scattered across a bank account, a spreadsheet and a self-service app.
“International payments and FX, run properly — with the numbers stated before you commit.”
We work with importers, exporters, professional-services firms, e-commerce sellers and manufacturers across the UK, alongside individuals making significant international transfers. Every product is explained with its limits before anything is agreed, and there is a UK specialist to speak to when a payment or a rate needs attention.

Method
How TimeFX works
We start with how your money actually moves — which currencies come in, which go out, when, and what has to be certain by a given date.
That picture usually points to a combination of international payments, multi-currency accounts and, where appropriate, currency risk management. We explain what each product does and what it does not do before anything is agreed.
From there the journey is simple: understand your requirements, apply, complete the checks required for UK payment services, and start managing your international payments and FX with TimeFX. As your trading changes — a new market, a new currency, a larger forward commitment — we adjust the setup with you.
Your side of it
What you get from day one
- Payments and currency in one place — send abroad, receive foreign revenue, hold the currencies you trade in.
- Costs stated up front, so you know what a transaction will cost before you agree to it.
- Practical currency planning around the dates and amounts your business has actually committed to.
Read the detail
Our regulatory disclosure sets out the legal and regulatory structure in full.
Onboarding
How becoming a client actually works.
Timelines depend on the regulatory checks every UK payment service must complete. We can be completely transparent about the sequence.
- 1
Initial conversation
You tell us the currencies, countries and payment patterns involved. We confirm whether we can help and outline the likely setup.
- 2
Application
You complete a short personal or business application. It collects initial details only — full verification comes later.
- 3
Due diligence
KYC and AML checks are carried out on the business and its beneficial owners, as UK regulation requires. We prepare you for what will be asked.
- 4
Live and supported
Once the account is open, we walk you through the first payments and stay as your ongoing point of contact.
What tends to slow things down
- Ownership structures where beneficial owners are not immediately clear
- Documents that are out of date or do not match company records
- Payment patterns that differ from what was described at application
- Waiting for information from a third party, such as an accountant

Compliance and transparency
Financial services attract a lot of marketing language. We would rather state plainly what is true.
No custody of client funds
TimeFX does not hold customer money. Funds sit with our FCA-authorised payment provider under the safeguarding rules applicable to authorised firms.
No unsupported claims
We do not publish savings percentages, guarantees or performance figures we cannot evidence. Costs are discussed directly, against your actual flows.
Rates move — and we say so
Exchange rates fluctuate. The sterling value of a payment can change between booking and settlement unless a forward contract is in place.
Your data, your control
We use enquiry details to respond to you, share them with the provider only when you ask us to progress, and delete them on request via hello@timefx.co.uk.
Guidance, not advice

A route to escalate
If something goes wrong, our complaints procedure explains how it is handled and who is responsible for regulated activities.
The full regulatory disclosure, including the authorised provider and its permissions, is set out on our regulatory disclosure page and in the site footer.
